I've picked up some new gear since - a Canon 1D Mark III which is absolutely tops for sports and was indispensible when catching action during the Australian University Games and more recently the 5D Mark II, touted for its low light performance, high resolution and first to a digital SLR, a full high definition video mode. I haven't had a chance to use it, however due to an accident with some liquid, Canon have had the camera for over four weeks waiting on one part required for the repair.
Transitioning the photo work to a 30" display has been a challenge. It's a high contrast wide gamut panel which accentuates most colours and makes them look richer if the software is unaware of the colour space. This means that if I post-process images to look right with an uncalibrated application, they will look dull, lifeless and lacking in contrast on a normal screen.
The updates here may be infrequent but they will happen. Until then, stay tuned.

Thought it was just me! I was just thinking before that it was unusually cold out there. Recovering from a nasty cold so I had the day off today - it's been one of those odd days for me.

I suppose the lesson here is to keep your camera with you at all times.
